The faucet handle in the Airstream Interstate is extremely short. When the sink lid is closed with the handle pointing up, it causes the faucet to turn on causing water to flow, filling up the grey tank. This extension slips on the existing faucet handle and makes it obvious that it is pointing up when the sink lid is closed. It also makes the faucet easier to use.
