Tweaked versions of my previously uploaded models are now compatible with standard AEG airsoft guns. Depending on your brand and model, you may need to make some slight modifications or filing for proper fitment and function. Print at the highest fill density possible (80% minimum, 90-100% recommended) and be cautious with temperatures, as the "spur" on top is thin and prone to warping under the heat of the nozzle if your settings are too hot or your cooling fan isn't doing its job effectively. 1. Choose the desired appearance, as triggers are relatively low-stress in AEGs, so strength shouldn't be a significant concern. 2. Flatten and orient the model using software like Cura, then scale to 102% (X & Y, leave Z at 100%) to account for material shrinkage during printing. 3. Print the model. 4. Use a 1/8" (~3mm) drill bit to ream out the pivot hole in the gearbox. 5. Cut a length of 1/8" (~3mm) brass rod (or use a broken 1/8" drill bit, M3 bolt or similar-sized shaft/rod) and glue it into the trigger body as the pivot pin (approximately 28mm long, may need to be slightly shorter or longer in some gearbox cases). 6. Test fit the trigger into the gearbox and check its function, making any necessary fine-tuning modifications. Feel free to modify the design to your liking, but remember that certain features are essential for functionality and cannot be simply aesthetic. The small 1mm x 10mm slot on the back is crucial for the trigger spring to index into; without it, you'll need to drill or melt a hole for the trigger spring to fit. The main lightening cut (the "hollow" part in the center of the main trigger body) is purely aesthetic, so feel free to experiment with various designs. AEG triggers don't experience significant stress during use (unless they jam or get stuck), so unless you make the edges extremely thin (2mm or less), structural issues are unlikely. I originally designed this model for CNC milling, so it should work well regardless of whether you're planning to 3D print or utilize reductive manufacturing techniques like CNC milling.
