Airsoft rail mounted shield ARMS
thingiverse
Airsoft rail mounted shield designed exclusively for airsoft enthusiasts, providing essential protection for the ammo box/drum and offering minimal defense against frontal attacks only. The sides remain wide open. The shield's protective range from the front measures 200mm in width and 250mm in height, with a 20-degree backward tilt and sideways orientation. Crafted to accommodate metal plates ranging from 2mm to 18mm thick, utilizing three M10 bolts for support under each plate. To minimize weight, 3mm thick aluminum will be used instead. The shield's mounts feature pull pins, allowing users to swiftly detach and reattach the shield as needed. A 5mm pull pin facilitates easy removal and installation. A 3-point rail design has been implemented, with center points spaced 30mm from the middle crossing in the photo, measuring 60mm across and 30mm deep. This configuration enables secure attachment of the shield to various airsoft guns. DXF files have been prepared for laser cutting at a local shop, ensuring precise fabrication of the metal components. Project completion involves several stages: 1. Initial design creation 2. Ordering laser-cut metal plates (two 3mm aluminum plates costing $63.25 NZD) 3. Printing and prototyping the shield 4. Cleaning and fitting the prototype 5. Editing the design if necessary, reprinting, and testing any redesigns 6. Painting the airsoft gun and shield 7. Project completion
