Simple Front Rail for a M40A3 Airsoft Rifle I highly recommend printing it in PETG because PLA may seem strong enough, but once you have it in your car on a warm day, there's no guarantee it will hold its shape. For the most stable print result, keep the orientation as shown. Prints are always strongest when expected forces can't tear layers apart. It comes in three different versions: all rails are 80mm long and 48mm wide. They're designed to be held down by six M4 screws that go into the receiver. Its actual purpose is to hold your barrel firm against the receiver and keep the whole mechanism from bending within the gun's body when you rest only your barrel on a window frame or similar. This does not only provide a better "feel" to the gun when you rest it like this, but it also increases the lifespan of your gun since pressure on the screws in the stock is reduced. The drill templates that come with this file are also available in 2 versions.
