I designed an airsoft BB holder that resembles the US military family of smoke grenades and functions as intended, unlike many retail versions. This design is printed in three parts: fuze, body, and bottom cap. After printing, the fuze screws into the top of the body; you can glue it for a permanent attachment if preferred. The bottom cap screws and unscrews from the body's bottom to allow pouring out BBs. I omitted the pull ring and pin from this model, but you can attach a 1" or 1.25" pull ring and pin (available at your local hardware store for approximately 80 cents each) through the fuze's hole. Pulling the pin is unnecessary since it serves no functional purpose. I sanded and primed my prints before applying spray paint and hand-painting, then weathered them for a realistic finish. I left the cylinder body unmarked to allow customization as desired for models like M18, M83, AN-M14, or other futuristic space grenades. Google can provide extensive information on US military non-fragmentation grenades using this same body and fuze type; if you're interested in making an Mk3A offensive hand grenade replica, this design is one step away. This airsoft BB holder is not a precise museum-quality replica of the US M18 smoke grenade. The fuze stands about 10mm taller than its actual counterpart due to beefing up for better field handling and narrower dimensions to prevent spoons from getting stuck when inserting them into pouches. I also reduced the bottle diameter slightly to fit within a double M4 mag pouch (not possible with the authentic version). This modification saves you from needing a dedicated M18 grenade pouch if you plan to use this airsoft BB holder on a field. Feel free to share your thoughts, and I appreciate constructive criticism.
