This retainer prevents the charging handle and spring from falling off. Simply snap it onto the last rail in place. The filament requires only +/- 600 mm to secure firmly without fear of breaking it while trying to remove it from the front rail. Additionally, a spacer has been attached that matches the compressed length of the spring. This ensures that the CH does not move when the front rail is removed.
