I mostly made this modification to eliminate the battery tray (because I despise dealing with that annoying screw on the hopup). However, due to its flat and spacious design, several other possible modifications have become feasible. For example: Mechanical blow back can be achieved by cutting a slot in the top of the gearbox and connecting a rod or cord from the piston to the bolt. Electromagnet blow back involves setting up a micro switch in the gas block that will send a short burst of power to an electromagnetic piston or linear motor, causing the bolt to be pushed back when both the micro switch and trigger are activated. A bigger bolt spring can be implemented by creating a knockoff ICS-style bolt.
