A lightweight Alcoa airplane bearing bracket, weighing only 228 grams, was designed to meet a stress limit of 145 ksi. Finite element method (FEM) simulations validated the design with the bottom fixed vertically and bolts fixed horizontally. The print direction featured a 45-degree angle between the base plane and the top side of the bracket. Submitted files included overview images, print direction images, .stp files for simulations and FEM simulation images.
