Airless Tire with rim printed with Quad-Extruder

The tire, composed of a tire and rim, was printed on the Multirap M500 quad extruder simultaneously combining three materials: Multec PLA Soft 120, Multec PLA, and Multec Smartsupport filament. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AndkALy4_YA This prototype showcases the simplicity and speed of printing flexible parts in mass production or as individual units. A new feature introduced in this tire is the integration of rim, tire, and support material in a single print, eliminating any need for cleaning, reworking, or gluing. The airless principle replaces the "air" component essential to the tire with an internal framework. Building on this principle, other components made from high-strength and flexible materials can also be produced during a single printing process. This design is intended for the dog wheelchair we use for our two-legged dog Luisa (see our wheelchair design).
