Airfoil Rocket Fin with Through-the-Wall Tabs
thingiverse
Rocket fin featuring an airfoil cross-section and 5mm through-the-wall fin tabs provides a strong attachment to the body tube. The thickest part of the airfoil is positioned one-third from the front tip of the fin, maintaining the same aspect ratio from root chord to tip chord throughout its length. Examine the multi-view drawing for an improved understanding of the overall shape of the fin. \n Instructions A full-sized fin can fit diagonally on a Makerbot Replicator 2 plate (view the image) but Makerware allows scaling it to any desired size. To ensure proper attachment, slots must be cut into the body tube of the rocket. Applying an epoxy fillet at the base is highly recommended, as illustrated by the gray line at the base of each fin in the first image.
