Airfoil Plane Wing

Airfoil Plane Wing

thingiverse

This PHP file converts approximately 1,550 airfoils from http://www.ae.illinois.edu/m-selig/ads/coord_database.html to SCAD and SDL files. The conversion process involves extracting coordinates and writing them as polygons in OpenSCAD, which are then linearly extruded to create 3D models. However, the last 800 files are still being processed, so only a partial set is currently available for download. Of the completed files, around 50% are ready for printing, another 25% require minor adjustments to bracket placement, while the remaining 25% are unusable. The PHP script used for conversion is also provided, requiring PHP and OpenSCAD installation with correct path settings. The full database has been uploaded to a new Thingiverse thing at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:25170.
