Airfield Ground Power Unit GPU
thingiverse
I needed a Ground Power Unit (GPU) for an upcoming model competition (I'm displaying my aircraft on the apron with a few bits of ground equipment around it). Since I didn't have one, and couldn't find a model that was worth paying for, I thought I'd just design one. This one is a generic GPU and could also be used as an air start unit (ASU). There is space to place decals to depict dials and controls on the side of the machine. Dimensions for 1/72 are approximately length 39mm. Edit: I have printed this unit in 1/72 scale (75% speed, 210 nozzle, 60 bed) - it has printed really well (just printed it upright with supports underneath - nobody will see the underside anyway) I'll post a pic once I've painted etc. As always, if you print and build/modify - I'd love to see it...!
