Aircraft motor mount
thingiverse
This design is specifically tailored for motor mounts on RC aircraft. Initially, I created it as an additional motorization system for the hand glider JISKRA made from balsa wood. Furthermore, I incorporated RC controlled vertical and horizontal tail surfaces. It is designed for a 10 mm foam or wood nose and features 30 mm motor holes that are compatible with self-tapping screws. EDIT1: I have also included an updated version with smaller motor mount holes to provide better grip. The ideal screw type for this setup is M3 x 8, which can be either self-tapping or wood screws. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Rebel II Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 35 Notes: The material used is not crucial; however, PLA is recommended for its lightness. To achieve optimal results, make the infill between 25-35%. It's essential to mount the motor with self-tapping or wood screws, which requires a dense enough infill to support it. Using 2-3 perimeters will make the structure strong and stable.
