The IL-96, created by Ilyushin Design Bureau in the late '80s, is a Soviet/Russian wide-body aircraft designed for medium to long-range flights. First flown in 1988 and serially produced from 1993 at Voronezh Aircraft Company, it was Russia's first long-haul wide-body plane. Capable of carrying 300-435 passengers, it has a flight range of up to 13,000 km, and is powered by Russian PS-90A engines.
