Airboat with printed EDF 110mm
thingiverse
I designed this ducted fan using a friend's blueprint. The motor used was from HobbyKing, specifically their D2826 6-2200kv Outrunner Motor. I noticed that the motor draws quite a lot of amps, around 40A, but fortunately my ESC and duct keep it cool, thanks to its 30A rating. Print Settings: Printer Brand is RepRap, with a model i3. No rafts were used during printing, and neither were supports. The resolution was set at 0.2mm, and the infill percentage was 50%. Notes included that it's made of PLA. Post-Printing: To attach the rudder flap, I heated each side with a lighter until the PLA became as soft as paper. Then, I folded it over a 2mm hinge pin by 180 degrees.
