I converted my Air Wolf 3D XL to a dual extruder machine back in March and thought it could make a decent conversion kit, but I have too many other things going on so decided to share it with everyone. The compact carriage design lets you get the same build width as the original plus a little extra room for larger prints due to remote feed. The 5mm Plexiglass enclosure that houses the spools and extruders worked out perfectly, but feel free to do whatever suits your needs. I've left my setup as is and will move it on down the line. This is still an ongoing project since the small diameter hobbed bolt drive has issues with keeping up under pressure. I plan to switch to bowden-style extruders later on this year. As for now, slower retractions are necessary so as not to damage the small drive motor. Retraction limiting makes way for some rather frustrating ooze out of the stationary nozzle afterwards though. Instructions are a simple pop-in and out process; removing only the belt from your x-axis lets you quickly get back up to speed. Eventually I'll get around to editing and uploading the GoPro footage to You Tube where anyone can learn about doing the same conversion with Air Wolf parts that you've likely already got. Parts printed in house along with a variety of hardware bits sourced locally from Home Depot and Ace Hardware except for bearing, all picked up from Amazon. Your own dual extruder head would have been part of your package with Air Wolf XL; this way everyone can do the conversion who's interested without extra purchase necessary, unless that part got damaged somehow. Getting both extruders leveled on a straight plane only requires placing a single thin sheet of paper under them once mounted on the frame so if your nozzles start looking a little skewed give those baby shim pieces a quick spin around with you trusty Allen wrench!
