Ventil for Handmade Masks. After sewing the mask, cut a hole with a 2 cm diameter and insert the ventil from inside. The ventil doesn't need to be sewn in; it holds well if the hole isn't too big. (Then wash the mask by hand or remove the ventil when washing the machine.) It helps because warm air can escape quickly this way. This prevents you from breathing in the same air that you've just exhaled.
