Air Supply - Respirator

Air Supply - Respirator

thingiverse

This is an air-powered respirator designed to supply filtered air directly to the 3M Versaflo faceshield assembly, which I created myself. However, it can be easily modified to work with a wide range of respirators. The system runs on a Milwaukee M12 battery. I've been looking for a Versaflo system for woodturning for years, but the price tag of $1200 to $1600 was completely out of my budget. I also considered the TREND AIR/PRO Airshield, but its proprietary batteries and expensive filters ($60 each) were major turn-offs. The Airshield itself costs around $400. On the other hand, the parts needed for my air supply system cost approximately $55, plus additional printing supplies. I was able to purchase a 3M Versaflo Face-Shield Assembly and hose for about $250. Overall, this setup is roughly $90 cheaper than buying an Airshield. For those who aren't woodworkers, the TREND AIR/PRO Airshield is a self-contained dust control system that includes everything you need in one package. More detailed instructions and images will be added soon. Last Update - March 19, 2014.
