Air Sponge Sculptural Piece

This is a potential submission to a Vancouver Call for Public Art. This design was crafted in Meshlab utilizing Voronoi filtering and uniform mesh resampling. The entirety of the design will stand about 2 meters tall and will be 3D printed by DShape. The name "Airsponge" comes from the fact that the entire surface will be coated with Titanium Dioxide nanoparticles. These particles are photo-catalytic - under the presence of sunlight it will attack smog compounds and bacteria. Without making a single sound, this sculptural piece will passively cleanse the air of pollutants and stay a brilliant white, theoretically forever.
