A kit for simple air filters as used in cars. The filter employed is a round VW-T4 passenger air filter, types 703 819 989, 703 819 990 A, 7D0 819 989 and alike which can be bought with or without activated charcoal added to the mix. Using the charcoal-variant will eliminate organic solvents, solder fumes and bad smells, in addition to removing pollen and dust from the air. The fan mount must be glued to the filter adapter for an airtight connection to be achieved, all other parts are screwed using M3 hex screws which hold them firmly in place. Nuts are held inside the fan case by four of the supplied holders which keep everything secure. I printed my parts using PLA, except for the seal which can also be done in TPU or simply cutting a piece of foam to the correct size. Best air flow is achieved when the fan sucks air through the filter, not pushing it through as this causes resistance and reduced airflow.
