Air Raid Siren - modified stronger version
prusaprinters

I printed the air raid siren version 2 and ran into some problems when I built it, so I made some modifications to make the siren more durable.

Slicing with a slicer that can print multiple models at once with different infill settings is pretty much required. I used simplify3d.

To build this you need these metric [mm] bearings:
(amount x outer diameter / inner diameter / height - model#)

1 x 47/25/12 - SKF 6005-2Z
4 x 16/5/5 - SKF 625-2Z

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

PowerSpec

Printer:

PowerSpec 3D Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

20%

Notes:

print everything at 0.2mm and 20% infill with the exceptions noted below:

printSirHa_Gehause1 or the split versionSirHa_Gehause1handle /SirHa_Gehause1klein 3.SirHa_Gehause2 has built in supports, print without support

printSirHa_Gehause3 or the split version for dual extrusion 7.SirHa_GetrRad1 has been broken into 3 parts: hub, spokes, and teeth. print the hub and teeth solid 100% infill, and the spokes 20%

SirHa_GetrRad2A and SirHa_GetrRad3 have been combined intoSirHa_GetrRad23, then split into hub, spokes, and teeth. print the hub and teeth solid 100% infill, and the spokes 20% 11.SirHa_GetrRad2B goes in the bottom of SirHa_GetrRad23. print this solid. 13.SirHa_GetrRad4A andSirHa_GetrRad4B both should be printed solid.

printSirHa_Kurbel1_spaced or the split versionSirHa_Kurbel1 /SirHa_Kurbel1_spacer. the spacer keeps the handle tight against the bearing and keeps the first gear and handle in alignment much better. 17.SirHa_Kurbel2 - print the thread layers and a little into the handle solid

printSirHa_Rotor1_blades andSirHa_Rotor1_spindle together, with blades at 20% infill and spindle solid

printSirHa_Rotor3 at 0.1mm layer height.

print 3xSirHa_Schraube1 and 6xSirHa_Schraube2, I printed mine solid and a little undersized (95% scale)

the spacer for Kurbel1 makes a huge difference forSirHa_Schraube3. I printed it on its side with supports, and solid. This makes the screw a lot stronger in the rotational axis, which is required when using the spacer.

Category: Mechanical Toys
