Air Raid Siren - hand crank version 3.1 (fit on the printer differently)
prusaprinters

My primary printer is a Prusa i3, and the bed size was just not enough to handle the original design.

I had pretty good success with the 80% build by MlePh (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3410556), but I wanted to scale up in size. When I tried to run the model by Kaetzy (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3648309), the place where his design was separated was difficult to glue together, and I was not happy with the overall integrity of the end-product.

I loaded the original files up into MeshMixer, and I modified this to cut at a place where there was more surface area, and add a few supports between the two pieces. The end design seems to be pretty stable.

My printer tolerances were a bit off on the image, you will see a gap, but that was more about old filament then the core design change.

Print instructions

Category: Engineering Summary

My primary printer is a Prusa i3, and the bed size was just not enough to handle the original design.

I had pretty good success with the 80% build by MlePh (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3410556), but I wanted to scale up in size.
