Air Pruning Bonsai Pot
thingiverse
I developed this system to exploit air pruning's benefits. Air pruning involves drilling holes in pots, allowing roots near the edges to wither due to dryness. This encourages plants to grow more robust root systems and flourish at an accelerated pace overall. You can utilize the large central hole on the bottom for wicking water when you're away from home. Here's a step-by-step guide to assembling this pot: 1. Place fabric mesh at the base. 2. Add a layer of gravel. 3. Fill in fertilized soil. 4. Plant your chosen vegetation. 5. Top with moss. 6. Finish off with decorative rocks. To enhance gas exchange for the lower roots and maintain moisture levels, position this pot on a humidity tray. Updated images are forthcoming.
