Air Hockey Corner Replacement

Air Hockey Corner Replacement

thingiverse

We had a classic air hockey table from Sears that dated back to the 1990s, featuring injection molded ABS corners. The constant barrage of puck impacts on the ~4mm thick ABS walls eventually led to cracks in the material, rendering the corners almost unusable. They deteriorated to the point where the puck would get stuck in the corner. Recently, I acquired a pair of calipers and created a replacement design. I successfully printed one part in PLA, which fit seamlessly and functioned flawlessly. This new design incorporates honeycomb infill behind the impact wall, making it significantly thicker than 4mm as well.
