Air Fryer Arduino Hack
thingiverse
I designed this Princess Air Fryer Arduino Hack in order to recover a device with electronics no longer working. Version 1 hack is displayed in the video: Princess original display has been replaced with a yellow 7 segments TM1637 display plus 3d-printed adapter. Princess internal electronics has been replaced by Arduino Uno and a 2 relays board (less than 10€ HW). After a first version, to be applyed externally, based on Arduino Uno, I made a second miniaturized version, powered by Arduino Mini, where all the electronics has been embedded within the enclosure of the Air Fryer ... do this at your own risk! Printing: use PETG or other high temperature filament. Wiring: use Silicon wires for high temperatures. User Instructions (very basic): the TM1637 Display shows the air fryer internal temperature, when you push the two main buttons 'Start' or 'Cancel' you set the target temperature down/up of 10°C and the target temperature is displayed for 2 seconds with '-' sign in front of it. Other buttons are not used... no pre-set and no timers anymore... but full control of your device actual and target temperature! Program algorithm: Fan is activated when temperature is above 40°C, Heater when target temperature is higher than actual one. Note: NTC Thermistore parameters have been computed measuring resistance of the sensor in ice and in boiling water. My NTC Thermistore can differ than yours, please calibrate your own hardware and update parameters in the provided Arduino source code. Also a pull-up resistor of 100kOhm and a capacitor of 10uF in parallel to the thermistore have been used for optimal reading. The resistor can be replaced by a smaller one, down to 4.7kOhm, and software needs to be updated accordingly. Note SW Update oct 2022: sw has been simplified as NTC Thermistore libraries have been replaced by an array of values calibrated directly on the machine with an external reliable temp sensor. Also fan is always kept on and target temp is displayed when keys are pressed (it's no longer kept visible for 2 seconds after change)
