To connect an M50 2.5ltr MAF sensor pipe, I fabricated a cone filter adapter that clears the heat shield. This setup is for my 318ti E36, which has undergone an M50 conversion, but it should work similarly on other models. Initially, I created a straight version of this adapter, but it was too close to the shield and caused rattling at idle.
