Air Filter Adapter for BMW vehicles
thingiverse
I found an extra conical air filter in the garage and I'm eager to test it on my 316i. The adapters from eBay were subpar with rough transitions, while smoother variants were pricey. Moreover, my filter is 90mm, but the adapters available were only 76mm long. So, I decided to use CAD software and came up with a solution. I designed a 90mm adapter for a 76mm air filter. This adapter should fit my E36 316i perfectly, and it may also work for a 318i. According to the information I gathered, it might even be compatible with Mazda RX7 FC and Mazda MX-5 NA models. I printed the adapter using PetG material, which turned out to be very strong. The walls are 1.5mm thick, and the result is quite sturdy. Note: This design is not a copy of any existing BMW part, and no intellectual property rights of BMW were used during its creation. As for eBay sellers, jdenton1977 from the USA broke the Creative Commons - Attribution license by using my photo without permission and selling this design at an overpriced rate (24 USD + shipping). In response, I'm moving this part under Creative Commons - Attribution, Non-commercial. Another eBay designer, robesim0 from Italy, also stole my design and photo. And, yet another eBay thief, 3dprintsnmore from the USA, ripped off my work as well.
