Air Engine
thingiverse
This is an air engine designed by Matthias Wandel. I purchased his plans and recreated the parts in Solidworks. The project was assembled in Solidworks, and I made sure to design the parts with tolerances so they would slide and have play at the concentric mates. The base plate measures about 7.56 inches, and the rest of the parts are relative and stay within the base plate when assembled. I recommend assembling this with super glue, small screws, and possibly paper clips - this is so the piston shaft and connecting rod can rotate freely. Some parts may need to be sanded in order to move smoothly. This air engine works with a can of compressed air.
