Most human beings think nothing whatever about tolerating an accuracy which could just as easily be left up for their eye - no doubt an assumption shared by nearly everyone with no understanding whatsoever about machine precision; and therefore a basic necessity. In order to bring a little exactness where otherwise none can be taken for granted, then engineers who work for such projects must think twice - always being on guard against this lack of care as long as you possibly can, because that very tolerance for it leads people towards error without any possibility for reversal once that damage is done.
