DESCRIPTION: The AIM-9 Sidewinder Missile is a short-range air-air missile used by various armed forces worldwide. It measures 3.02 meters in length. The missile features Infrared Homing, which allows it to guide itself towards an infrared target selected by the launcher. The AIM-9 Sidewinder can be launched from Naval, Ground, or Air platforms and can engage targets using either ATA or ATG combat systems. Once adopted by the Air Force, it developed the AIM-9E model in 1967, introducing significant improvements over the basic AIM-9B design. The Echo version featured enlarged forward canards, a more aerodynamic IR seeker, and an enhanced rocket motor. However, the missile still had to be fired at the rear quarter of the target, a limitation shared by early IR missiles. The AIM-9J model, introduced during the Linebacker campaign in July 1972, represented a significant upgrade to the dogfight version, which saw extensive use against North Vietnamese MiGs. GEOMETRY: The missile's geometry consists of quads and tris polygons, with 2574 vertices and 2480 polygons. EXTRAS: This model includes textures incorporated into the MAX file and is intended as an example render. The same rendering technique was used for this model. RENDER: The model was rendered using V-Ray 1.5 and 3D Max 2010 software. ORIGINAL FORMAT: The original file format of this model is MAX. AVAILABLE FORMATS: This model is available in MAX and OBJ formats. If you appreciate my work, consider donating to my PayPal account at Georci222@gmail.com
