This low-poly model, constructed almost to scale, exhibits a high level of geometric detail and authentic textures. The AIM-54 Phoenix missile is a long-range, air-to-air weapon that, when combined with the AN/AWG-9 radar system, enables a single aircraft to simultaneously target numerous enemy planes. Up to six missiles could be carried at once in clusters for this purpose. The F-14 Tomcat fighters initially used the Phoenix, but both have since been retired and are no longer in service. The Phoenix has been replaced by the AIM-120 AMRAAM on the F/A-18 Hornet and its derivatives. Iran remains the sole operator of both the F-14 and the AIM-54 Phoenix, having acquired them in the 1970s before their revolution.
