At the Danbury Makerfaire on June 8, 2013, my scanning rig- the Scan-O-Tron 3000 made its public debut at the Coney Island Scan-A-Rama booth. The scans were stunning, and now a Kickstarter for Scan-A-Rama is planned, with open sourcing of plans on the horizon.
