****Update**** I have put this project on hold right now. I believe the stock V5 hotend is not compatible in the direct extruder position. It requires the bowden tube to extend into the heat block down to the top of the nozzle/hot end. This part did mount with some post print modifications for screw locations and other unforseen issues. I am going to upgrade my hotend to either a E3D Hemera or a Titan Aero then I will resume work on this project. Anycubic i3 Mega / Mega S direct drive conversion utilizing the stock Titan extruder equipped on the Mega S, stock V5 hotend and NEMA 17 pancake stepper motor. This is completely untest at this point as I am sharing my work thus far to get feedback/input from interested parties. I design with AutoCAD so DWG is the native file format which I have uploaded here with the STL files. There are 2 prints which will mount directly to the stock steel X carriage plate. It replaces the stock belt attachment. Please take my DWG files and tweak them if needed. There are STEP files of parts that don't get printed for reference. The extruder in the DWG is the E3D Titan extruder but I have adjusted the space to accomodate the stock Titan extruder that comes with the Mega S. Also I haven't worked out the cooling fan or the hotend fan yet, still to come. It doesn't seem that any build volume is lost but like I said, it's completely untest so far. Once I complete the prints I will assemble, test and post my results here. Once a working prototype is ready to print I plan to use PETG or ASA with 100% infill set at least 0.20 layer height. But for now I'm printing with PLA at 15% infill. Thank you. **Update** I have replaced the Direct Drive X Carriage STL file with an updated one. New one includes hotend fan mount and additional plate mount locations. Unfortunately supports are needed and shown where in the screenshot of my slicer. Still working on the part cooling fan mount. Will probably go with a 5015 rear mounted with ducts to the hot end. ***Update*** Step files uploaded as well as DXF file from my DWG. I'm pretty sure DXF can be imported into just about every CAD software.
