This project represents a significant evolution in technology that combines augmented reality and machine vision to enhance product inspections. Initially conceived as an exercise in problem-solving, the augmented realty inspection system is being developed to tackle critical manufacturing defects, especially those occurring in production line. Its core objective is to bridge the gap between theoretical design data (CAD) and physical realities through direct visual comparison, effectively streamlining inspection protocols. Currently in beta stage, I envision users donning the virtual reality goggle that has been paired with VR gloves. By simply pointing the hand-worn 6-camera assembly at a specimen being tested, inspectors can swiftly examine even the minutest anomalies. In a unique integration of artificial intelligence and digital visualization tools (Creo Parametric) linked through cloud-based server networks to remote teams employing advanced software from PTC Vuforia and proprietary augmented reality interface tools (such as Red Bull VR gloves). With an initial working design originating from modification of previously custom AOI machine that worked with a surface mount assembly inspection project in past, users expect to find improved outcomes of higher efficiency combined productivity rates at lower cost of errors thanks this augmented machine system
