Aftermarket remote car starter key fob
thingiverse
Key fob for an aftermarket remote car starter. I'm not sure of the brand (created for a friend), but will update the title and description when I find out. When printing, I used a brim, supports, and 4 or 5 perimeter layers (enough to make sure the area around the screw holes print solid) with a 0.1 mm layer height. Took about an hour and 20 minutes on my printer. Things are kind of a tight fit between the plastic and internal components, so just be aware. Assembly Notes: 1. In the original key fob, there are three pegs on the top half that stick out and go through the rubber membrane. Since those pegs are too small/weak to print, the bottom instead has three holes that the rubber nubs on the membrane slide into to hold it in place. They're a bit of a tight fit, so you may have to give each of the nubs a slight push or wiggle to get them to slide in. 2. To hold the two halves together on the opposite side from the screws, there is a little lip on the top half that "hooks" into the bottom half, so when assembling the two halves, you have to put that lip end together first. 3. The screws are self-tapping in the plastic, so don't tighten them too hard or you'll strip them and they'll have a decent chance of falling out.
