Afterburner direct drive for CR-10 type of printers

---Update--- If you want to use just one MGN12H linear rail check the Afterburner carriage from the new Voron Switchwire. It is easy to adapt it to CR-10/Ender (just belt holder adaptation). ---------------- ---------------- I am in the process of building a Voron coreXY printer and while waiting for parts to come I did this project for fun. Now my heavily modified CR-10 looks great. The print quality is nice, similar to what I get with other direct drives, but the look is unique. I run it at speeds up to 50mm/s and will try higher when I get proper grease for the linear rails. The print head in action: https://youtu.be/wasuxKUdB7E This thing is a carriage for the Voron Afterburner print head running on two linear rails - MGN12H and MGN09H. The original Voron carriage is for two MGN09 rails, but I had already an MGN12 rail, so I adapted it. The other changes are related to the x-belt setup wich is adapted to the CR-10/Ender3 type of printers. For more info on the X-belt modifications, check my video and description for full linear rail conversion of the CR-10 here: https://youtu.be/pumRIHed8U0?t=694 In order to fix the belt for the carriage you need a piece of 5cm belt between the main belt and the MGN09H carriage. This print head uses a lot of threaded inserts. For the carriage I use 4.6mm instead of 5mm M3 inserts, because it seems safer. So the holes are adapted to these inserts: https://amzn.to/2KqJiY8 (Amazon Germany) For the direct extruder I use this dual drive DIY kit: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_d6zJDh0 You'll need also a 4020 blower fan. I bought this https://amzn.to/3cOSvGb For the chain, I use a cheap one 14 x 17 mm from Amazon https://amzn.to/3fe3Wbp, but there are better options. The Voron Afterburner print head can use E3D V6, Mosquito or Dragon hotends. I use E3D V6 and I also include a modified rear mount for E3D V6 that is more solid and with 2 extra screws. For all other parts and assembly manual, please check the official VoronDesign website: http://vorondesign.com/voron_afterburner The carriage was adapted based on the Afterburner Beta 1, but it will fit also the Afterburner version published with Voron 2.4. The original design uses 4010 hotend fan. Myself I adapted the hotend cover to fit 4020 mm Noctua fan. If you are interested in this modification, drop a comment and I will upload it. (edit: uploaded) Mesh bed leveling. https://youtu.be/yxHTdCKzE2I The voron printer uses inductive probe for bed leveling (or more precisely for gantry leveling) and a z-endstop. Myself I use the inductive probe as a z-endstop also, however I chose a more precise inductive sensor than the official - the Omron TL-Q5MC2-Z.
