AfterBearner X Carriage 2.0 With BL Touch
thingiverse
The only Parts I modified were to change the X Axis Carriage to allow a BL Touch to be mounted where the typical inductive sensor goes. The two screws that attach the X Belt Clip are shortened to 15mm with this mod. The BL Touch mounting block is intended to have M3 heat set inserts in it and mount with M3x5mm screws. The block itself is a friction fit to the carriage and retained by the hot end mount. Whichever hot end mount you use, I'd suggest modifying the smaller plate to be closed on the back, and then add some foil tape (or I guess you could use actual aluminum foil if you're just feeling cheap). This will force the hot air out the sides instead of on to your probe. You can use electrical tape or something to make it tighter if needed. I've uploaded an example for the Dragon hotend so you see what I mean. I did not add screws to mount it in order to avoid further weakening the carriage with more holes, though you could remix it again to add that if you want. The wires are meant to route exactly like the inductive probe with the connector facing the X rods. Modeled offsets for the BLT are: X: zero, nada, big ol' honkin' goose egg Y: -21.25mm Z: 2.63mm from the nozzle tip ( you'll still have to work out your own probe Z offset) New hardware: 2x M3x15mm 2x M3x5mm I'm not specifically modding a Prusa printer, rather, I'm adapting the Bear X axis to an Anet A8 Plus, so I haven't fit it to a Prusa, but there's no reason this shouldn't work. Have fun.
