After the Alien Invasion

After the Alien Invasion

thingiverse

This creation builds upon my work in Fusion 360, an impressive 3D design tool created by AutoDesk. I began with a rectangular foundation and cultivated an intricate curved shape out of the surface. Next, I incorporated the 'buildings' below the curve to provide context and perspective to the design. However, it wasn't until later that I grasped how the curve symbolized the aliens, transforming this piece into a depiction of their arrival.\n\nInstructions\nCrafted in Fusion 360 (available at no cost for hobbyists!), processed in Simplify3D, and printed on a MakerBot Replicator2 using BuildTak on a glass printing platform with a support material and MakerBot filament with the following settings:\nFilling level = 20%\nLayer thickness = 0.2\nNumber of outer shells = 4\nPrinting speed = 40\nTravel movement speed = 55\nTemperature setting = 220C
