thingiverse
This object is part of Bronwyn Holloway-Smith's art project, "Whisper Down The Lane," which coincides with the exhibition, The Obstinate Object: Contemporary New Zealand Sculpture at City Gallery Wellington (24 Feb - 10 June 2012). During the exhibition, designers Ant Pelosi and Nick Graham collaborate to create digital 3D models of selected works from The Obstinate Object. These models are released under a Creative Commons BY-SA-NC License for free download on Thingiverse. Each physical work in the series can be purchased via a manufacture-on-demand system, produced in New Zealand using an Open Source RepRap 3D printer. As new works are completed and released, the project progressively expands throughout the exhibition. Follow @hollowaysmith on Twitter or join the mailing list at bronwyn.co.nz/contact/ for notifications of new releases. The initial work is printed in two pieces (different colors) and secured together with a steel rod.
