Affordable Prosthetic for people without Fingers

This multipurpose hand prosthetic is designed specifically for individuals without fingers, empowering them to perform everyday activities. Although numerous similar projects are available online, they often fall short due to simplicity or exorbitant costs, making mass production unfeasible. As a designer from India, I created this prosthetic with the intention of providing affordable solutions for people in underprivileged countries, where health agencies can distribute it effectively. The detachable arm clamp allows users to customize their fit and comfort level by designing their own clamps according to their needs. Note: Unfortunately, my broken printer resulted in a subpar print, prompting me to make significant design revisions. However, I have not had the opportunity to test these changes yet. Therefore, it would be greatly appreciated if someone could print this model and provide feedback in the comments. With this prosthetic, individuals without fingers can: * Use pens and pencils * Utilize cutlery * Brush their teeth Added features include: * Holding cups * Carrying bags * Interacting with touchscreens * Using 4mm Hex tool bits and interchangeable screwdriver sets My inspiration came from exploring various assistive devices on Thingiverse. I am also uploading a version without the cup holder. Print Settings: Printer: Self-made Rafts: Not necessary Supports: Yes Infill: At least 20% How I Designed This: This arm is a fusion of multiple simpler designs found on Thingiverse. I aimed to incorporate as many functionalities into this single design as possible. I utilized CATIA V5 to create the model for this prosthetic. Additional steps: Creating the stylus: To ensure that the stylus functions properly, it must be conductive and electrically connected to the user's body. There are various methods described in a WikiHow article (http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Stylus). Here is the simplest method and my preferred approach: 1) Take a small piece of aluminum foil. 2) Attach it with a wire. 3) Wrap this around the stylus tip and secure it with tape. 4) Extend the wire to the clamps. 5) Add a small metal piece to the other end of the wire. 6) When ready, attach this metal piece to your body, and the stylus will become functional.
