This is a 6" long, two piece model kit, of Edwin Pangman's Aetherium 3 Starship. Ed has very graciously given me permission to upload my kit conversion of his creation here for all of you to enjoy. You can find more of Ed's prolific work on Shapeways at the link below including the original versions of this design. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/importsfromthefuture The model has been split into top and bottom halves to make it easier to print without slicer generated supports. 4 support tabs around each landing gear are built into the model to provide critical support for corner overhangs. These are shown in green in the pictures above of the model rendering. They should be easily removable after the print by pinching the larger ones at the base of the hull and carefully removing the tabs under the landing foot with a sharp hobby knife. The two halves are intended to be aligned for gluing together with 3.5 mm long 1.75mm filament pegs inserted into the 3 alignment holes. When printing at the recommended 0.05mm layer resolution the print surface comes out quite smooth and requires only light sanding with 1000 grit sandpaper. To get a perfect fit of the two halves it is recommended that thermally calibrated filament be used. I use these clips to calibrate my filament. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1037301
