AeroScout Snow Skis
thingiverse
As winter is not far away here in the Northeast and taking off and landing on snow is almost a requirement if you want to keep flying. I decided to add some "Snow Gear" to my AeroScout. I couldn't find any skis already posted that would easily attach to an AeroScout so I decided to design my own. These skis attach to the existing landing gear by simply removing the existing wheels and attaching the skis using the same hardware. As the skis present an additional load on the gear, and AeroScout is notorious for failing in "nose heavy" landings, I recommend reinforcing the Nose Gear with a stiffening plate similar to the one posted by Garry Kreamer (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5951755).Oh, and wear gloves to keep the thumbs nimble!
