Aeropress Travel Filter Holder

Aeropress Travel Filter Holder

I adore my Aeropress(es). I own three of them. What I dislike about the Aeropress is when I travel, I carry a bag full of stuff and it's easy to forget something behind. I wish it would assemble into a single unit for travel, as much as possible. For instance, if the screen part were 1mm deeper, it could snap onto the press. And then there are the filters... I'm sure everyone has a ziplock baggie with a bunch of filters in it. I try to solve both issues with this device. A filter holder that attaches to the press and the screen attaches to the top of the filter holder. Filters are contained inside and kept clean. Yes! I am still fine-tuning the fit of the lid for the filter holder. It's a bit tight. I have a version that is standalone, which works perfectly, so some of my settings may have affected this fit. Although, this might actually be desirable to have it fit very tightly. I had an earlier version with threads that I didn't like much. I'm considering adding a bayonet-style latch to the lid. This part still needs improvement. The bottom portion, which I call the container, has air slots. I wanted to prevent moisture from getting trapped so bacteria wouldn't grow. This also allows the plunger to be removed easily because no vacuum is created. I use Simplify3D and have a 0.5mm nozzle. I printed this in my cheapest HIPS.
