Aeropress Plunger

Aeropress Plunger

I found myself with a broken Aeropress and decided to investigate if you can purchase the plunger and rubber seal separately. It turns out that you can buy just the seal, so I set about designing the plunger. Since I updated the threads on the bottom part to prevent binding issues similar to those found in the original design, I haven't printed this version yet. However, as I don't plan to remove the bottom part, it's not a concern for me. I printed the top and bottom parts at 0.15 layer height with 20% infill, 3 perimeters, and 3 layers of both top and bottom. The body was printed at 0.25 layer height, with 15% infill, 3 perimeters, and 3 layers each for the top and bottom. This design is optimized for easy printing and doesn't require supports; simply place them on the bed as shown in the thumbnails. I successfully tested the rubber seal and found that it works perfectly for brewing coffee. Please note that I wouldn't recommend using FDM printed parts directly next to food or drinks unless they have been specially treated for this purpose.
