AeroPress Mug Extender (Brew on Larger Mugs)
prusaprinters

I like to add frothed milk to my coffee, which requires a larger mug… But a standard AeroPress isn't stable atop larger (latte-style) mugs - as I found out the hard way.

So, I created this simple adapter that securely fits into the notched pattern on the AeroPress filter basket, and which extends further out to comfortably and securely fit atop larger mugs.

Key Features:

Larger (⌀=135mm) shelf fits bigger mugs

Circular ribs on the bottom help to stabilize the AeroPress atop the mug

Fits a wider range of mug sizes

12-sided polygon shelf prevents the AeroPress from rolling away

Precise fit with AeroPress notches

Notch holds are perforated to reduce coffee back-flow

Print Settings:

I printed mine in PETG with 3+ perimeters, 0.2mm layer height and 30%+ infill, but would recommend you err on the safe side and use more perimeters and infill because you will likely be applying a good amount of force through it. The print shouldn't require support material if printed with the flat surface placed directly on the print bed.

Warning:

Use at your own discretion, and please err on the side of safety. I will not be responsible for any harm that comes from the use, misuse or breaking of the device. If you press too hard, coffee may flow back out the top of the shelf - so take it slow (per standard AeroPress technique) and apply light pressure.

Enjoy! And please post pictures of your makes!
