This is remix for adding some shelving for the aeroponic grow tower. It can be used for additional plant support, or for support of additional lighting when growing indoors. LED grow strip lights can be added to the inner diameter of the ring, or vertical grow lights can be secured to the inside of multiple rings using simple cable ties (or design your own clip-on mount for additional security). This works particularly well for affixing T8 LED Bulbs. Depending on your intended use and overall weight consideration, you may require multiple shelves. Always balance the overall weight you add to each ring to ensure your tower does not tip over! This is especially true when attaching vertical LED lights; place these closer to the support arms. Due to the fact that heat can adversely affect structural integrity of your aereopnic tower, lower heat polymers, like PLA, should not be used in conjunction with nearby electrical equipment. Use common sense and don't hurt yourself by attaching additional electrical equipment to these towers in an unsafe environment, or in an environment that will become unsafe due to degradation in structural integrity due to exposure to heat (outside). Change Log: 7/9/2020: v6: Resized the base connector to better attach to the tower. 7/16/2020: v7: Recreated the ring components to be M3 Screw based, increased thickness for better stability. Print Settings Printer Brand: MK3 Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 20% Filament: Prusament PETG, ASA; PLA if used exclusively indoors White Notes: No supports needed, but a small brim is useful for the ring parts. Post-Printing ============= Assembly There are two basic pieces which need to be printed several times per shell: * 3x Arms * 6x Rings Additional Hardware Arm Attachment: 3x M3x16 Screws (Stainless Steel) 3x M3 Washers (Stainless Steel) 3x M3 Nylock Hex Nuts (Stainless Steel) Ring Assembly: 12x M3x12 Screws (Stainless Steel) 12x M3 Nylock Hex Nuts (Stainless Steel) Construction Attach each arm to the grow module; insert the m3x16 screws through the washer (from the bottom) and into a nylock hex nut on top. Assemble 3 sets of 2 ring components together using 2x M3x12 and 2x Nylock Hex nuts per pair. Attach each pair together onto the arm components; for each arm, use 2x M3x12 screws through the arm, then the thicker ring component, then through the thinner strip of an additional arm. Secure both screws with 2x Nylock hex nuts. While it is possible to print fewer arms than the full shell, I wouldn't recommend it, as it decreases overall stability of the ring and unnecessarily causes instability. Category: Outdoor & Garden
