Artist Statement My work delves into the intersections between emerging social hierarchies and the subcultural values of skateboarding. Drawing from diverse influences such as Kierkegaard's existentialism and Roy Lichtenstein's pop art, I craft novel narratives that recontextualize both mundane and transcendent themes. As a child, I was captivated by the notion that our era's dominant ideology is inherently illusory. What begins as a celebration of progress often devolves into a culture of excess, leaving behind only the faint promise of transformation. Through my spatial practices, which evolve through personal experimentation, the viewer gains a glimpse into the possibilities and challenges of our contemporary world.
