Aeroplane design typically begins with the concept and preliminary drawings phase. Here, the engineers establish the overall aircraft layout, fuselage length, and configuration of wings, stabilizers, and control surfaces. During this stage, critical performance specifications such as speed range, ceiling height, cruise altitude, and range capabilities are also determined. A computer-aided design (CAD) system is utilized to produce precise and detailed drawings of all aerodynamic and structural components, including wing spars, stringers, frames, ribs, fairings, access panels, leading edge devices, flap, spoiler control surfaces, control systems, wheels brakes system, air brake parachute etc. Next comes the construction of full-scale models in metal, composite materials, wood, plastic, etc. to test their durability under stress conditions such as pressure changes caused by altitude changes, engine power variations during cruise flight phase which will simulate extreme temperatures both high-low environments including humidity factors associated with those ranges. Testing also evaluates static and dynamic responses such as loads on structural members while maneuvering; take-off, climb performance characteristics in level flying attitude. The model's weight distribution significantly influences overall performance due partly because its mass contributes greatly toward propulsion energy efficiency.
