I had an old Aerobird Xtreme from Hobbyzone stored away in the rafters and decided to give it another try. The vtail control horns that came with this unit were extremely flimsy, having become brittle over time. This new design is far superior, offering more ease of use. To install these control horns, simply poke a couple of holes in the foam using the horn mount holes as a guide, then run some M3 hardware through the top and bottom of each horn and secure with a nut to clamp the whole unit tightly down onto the foam. I secured the control string by threading an M3 bolt through another nut and washer, wrapping the string around it so that it's trapped between the plastic and the washer. I also replaced the v-tail clamp, as the original piece had crumbled due to brittleness. To secure this new clamp in place, I dug out a bolt from my M3 hardware bin and threaded it through the tail boom, the tail, and finally into a nut on the bottom.
