Aerobee Model rocket
thingiverse
The rocket was originally designed By John Coker in his YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2fTdN1RijQ. http://jcrocket.com/mr-scratch-building.shtml (download for .pdf fin template) however I wanted it to have the raised details on the side just like the real life rocket. the boat tail and .pdf plans for the fins are from John Coker. and the centering rings and the engine stop are from jgutz20 here on thingiverse. Lastly the nose cone is from JackHydrazine I have placed all the files here for ease of location. To build this rocket you will need some 1/16th or 3/32nd thick balsa sheet to cut the fins https://www.apogeerockets.com/Building_Supplies/Balsa/Balsa_Sheet_1_16in_x_18in a 10 and 1/8 inch length section of Estes bt-50 body tube https://www.apogeerockets.com/Building_Supplies/Body_Tubes/Low_Power_Tubes/24mm_x_18_Body_Tube_Estes_BT-50_size a 3 or so inch section of Estes bt-20 body tube https://www.apogeerockets.com/Building_Supplies/Body_Tubes/Low_Power_Tubes/18mm_x_18_Body_Tube_Estes_BT-20_size and a shock cord at least 18" inches in length https://www.apogeerockets.com/Building_Supplies/Parachutes_Recovery_Equipment/Shock_Cord/Kevlar_Cord_100 a 12" parachute https://www.apogeerockets.com/Building-Supplies/Parachutes/Up-to-24in/12in-Printed-Nylon-Parachute and a 18mm (estes B and C sized) engine hook https://www.apogeerockets.com/Building_Supplies/Motor_Retainers_Hooks/Engine_Hooks/Standard_Engine_Hooks * builders note. The printed nose cones do work however they can be delicate and prone to breaking on less than ideal landings. If you are ordering parts I highly recommend you use a blow molded nose cone from Estes or apogee components Link below https://www.apogeerockets.com/Building_Supplies/Nose_Cones/Low_Mid_Power_Nose_Cones/PNC-24C You can easily make your own parachute from a heavy duty trash bag, thick braided fishing line with binder hole reinforcement stickers to save some money. The balsa is easily available at your local craft store. these rockets can be well made and still cost very little money Lastly I included a simple 3d printable launch lug, however I recommend you make it out of something more streamline. I use brass tube often and have had great success with it. just make sure it slides over your 1/8th in launch rod. Before gluing it to your rocket
